There’s no doubt that the highlight of the 1983 NRHS convention was the night photo session at Richmond’s famed triple crossing. Conducted by the late Jim Boyd, the scene featured a Chesapeake & Ohio B30-7 on the top level, a Seaboard System GP40-2 in the center, and a pair of Southern Railway FP7’s on the bottom. Getting three Class One railroads coordinated to execute this photo was a monumental task, and the folks in Richmond who organized this event cannot get enough credit for their efforts.
